in the Royal Australian Mint's Kangaroo Coin Series which began in 1993.
After the 3-year series of Aboriginal designs on the Fine Silver Kangaroo Dollar, the Mint chose a new design direction for the bush icon and national symbol. Response to market research conducted by the Mint during 2003 saw a contemporary design on the Kangaroo dollar coins.
