   On March 9, 2005, a niobium coin with a face value of 25 euro was issued by the Austrian mint, dedicated to the 50th anniversary of television in Austria. The coin was minted in a circulation of 65,000 units.

   The obverse of the coin depicts a 1950 television test table, under which is placed the year of minting "2005." On the outer silver ring in the upper part is the name of the state "REPUBLIK ÖSTERREICH" and at the bottom is the face value of the coin "25 EURO."

   The reverse of the coin on the outer ring depicts the main milestones in the history of television, from the first televisions to modern satellite antennas. In the center is an old television antenna against the backdrop of the globe. In the lower right part there is the inscription "50 JAHRE FERNSEHEN" ("50 YEARS TO TELEVISION").
