   Austria's second collectible gold coin with a face value of 50 euro from the Great Composers series was released on February 16, 2005 and is dedicated to the outstanding German composer Ludwig Van Beethoven. Minted in the Austrian mint with a circulation of 50,000 coins.

   The obverse of the golden coin of Austria depicts the facade of the Lobkowitz Palace in Vienna, where Beethoven presented the Third Symphony to the audience. In the lower right part is a sheet with the inscription "SINFONIA EROICA" ("HEROIC SYMPHONY") and a pen. Nearby is the denomination of the 50 EURO coin and the inscription "PALAIS LOBKOWITZ" ("PALACE OF LOBKOWITZ"). The name of the state "REPUBLIK ÖSTERREICH" is inscribed on top in a semicircle, and the year of minting "2005" is indicated on the right.

   The reverse of the coin depicts a portrait of Ludwig Van Beethoven. Above it is the name of the composer "LUDWIG VAN BEETHOVEN" and below - his signature. On the left in two lines are the years of life "1770-1827."
