In    2012, the Austrian Mint began issuing a series of gold collector coins with a face value of 50 euro "Klimt and His Woman" consisting of five coins. The first coin of the Adelie Bloch-Bauer series was released on January 25, 2012 with a circulation of 30,000 units.

   The obverse of the gold coin depicts a portrait of the Austrian artist Gustav Klimt. In the lower right corner is his name "GUSTAV KLIMT." Also at the bottom of the coin are the denomination "50 EURO" and the year of issue "2012." To the left and top of the portrait is the name of the state "REPUBLIK ÖSTERREICH."

   The reverse depicts a fragment of Klimt's painting "Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I."
