The obverse of the 100 Euro coin depicts an organ installed in the Golden Hall of the Vienna Philharmonic, over which the inscription "REPUBLIK ÖSTERREICH" ("AUSTRIAN REPUBLIC") is placed. At the bottom of the coin is the denomination "100 EURO" and above is the weight of the coin "1 UNZE" the metal sample "GOLD 999.9" and the year of minting.

The reverse of the Austrian "philharmonicer" of 100 euro depicts musical instruments used by the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra: four violins, cello, horn, bassoon and harp. Above the image in a semicircle is the inscription "WIENER PHILHARMONIKER" ("VIENNA PHILHARMONIC").
