On coins of 10, 20 and 50 euro cents - a sister, who was also depicted on the franc. The obverse of coins in denominations of 1 and 2 euro depicts a stylized tree symbolizing life and continuity of development, around which the motto of France "LIBERTÉ, ÉGALITÉ, FRATERNITÉ" (Freedom, equality, brotherhood) is located.

Like other Eurozone countries, France will mint commemorative coins in denominations of 2 euro. As of the beginning of 2020, 22 anniversary euro coins were issued.

Also, France annually mints gold and silver collection euro coins in denominations from 25 euro cents to 1000 euro. More than 800 French collectible coins have already been issued.
