Coin of the Roman Treaty series, 2 euro Ireland

    Ireland's commemorative coin of the Rome Treaty series with a face value of 2 euro was issued in 2007 with a circulation of 4.82 million coins.

   The obverse of the commemorative coin depicts an open book with the signatures of the parties against the background of the Roman Capitol. At the top of the coin is the inscription "CONRADH NA RÓIMHE 50 BLIAIN" (Irish Treaty of Rome, 50 years old), and at the bottom is the name of the country "ÉIRE" (Irish Ireland) and the year of issue of the coin. On the outer ring are 12 stars of the European Union.
