   A collector's silver coin of Latvia with a face value of 5 euro was issued in 2016 in memory of the Mitava operation during the First World War (also known as the Christmas battles), conducted by Russian troops in the area of ​ ​ the city of Mitava. Minted in the mint of Lithuania with a circulation of 5,000 coins.

   The obverse  of the silver coin of Latvia depicts a stylized sun with eight rays from the badge of the Latvian rifle battalion and a sword. On the background is a group of Latvian shooters. On the right side of the coin is the name of the country "LATVIJA" and the year of issue "2016" the denomination "5 euro" is indicated below.

   On the reverse of the coin on the left side is a snowflake, and on the right - a trace from a bullet. At the bottom is the inscription "ZIEMASSVÆTKU KAUJAS" ("CHRISTMAS FIGHTS."
