Coin "500 years from first contact with Timor" 2 euro Portugal

Portugal's commemorative Euro 2 coin "500 years from first contact with Timor" was issued in July 2015 by the Portuguese Mint. The circulation was 520,000 coins.

The obverse of the commemorative coin 2 euro depicts a ship of the 16th century, symbolizing the arrival of Portuguese sailors on the island, as well as a traditional Timorese house with wooden sculptures on the roof. In the upper right corner there is the inscription "1515 PORTUGAL" and in the lower left "TIMOR 2015." Also in the lower part of the coin is the artist's signature, and a little to the right is the sign of the Portuguese mint "INCM." In a circle there are 12 stars of the European Union.
