Coin "450 years since the birth of Caravaggio" 2 euro Vatican

    A commemorative coin of 2 euro of the Vatican was issued on June 25, 2021 on the occasion of the 450th anniversary of the birth of the famous Italian artist Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio. Minted in the Italian mint with a total circulation of 78,300 coins.

   The obverse of the commemorative coin depicts Caravaggio's painting "Young Man with a Basket of Fruits" to the left of which is the sign of the Italian mint "R." Under the image is the name of the artist "CARAVAGGIO" and the years "1571-2021" are indicated. On top of the semicircle is the name of the state "CITTA'DEL VATICANO." On the outer ring - 12 stars of the European Union.
